The dermo-epidermal atrophy in striae, more commonly known as stretch marks, are healed lesions that appear on the skin due to the rupture of the elastic fibers of the dermis. They are located in different areas of the body, primarily to the inner surface of the thighs, hips, breast, outer part of the buttocks and belly. Stretch marks occur when the skin tissue loses elasticity due to factors primarily related to changes in weight or hormonal imbalances. This involves the formation of streaks on the surface of the skin, characterized by different colors depending on the developmental stage: initially red or purple, more easily handled, they become difficult to handle when they reach a coloring pale pink or white.
