Each treatment of a physical nature aimed at reducing excess of localized fat, without necessarily include weight reduction, is described as "localized slimming." The term adiposity describes the presence of a superabundant adipose tissue in a circumscribed area of the body, due either to an excessive number of fat cells, both in a cell hyperplasia (increase in the volume of the adipose cell). The quantity and distribution of "localized fat" varies for each individual based on sex, age, percentage of total body fat, their genes, the amount and type of physical activity practiced.
